Sunday Morning Adult Bible Class: Living Live Backwards: Seeking Wisdom from Ecclesiastes

Keeping the end in mind shapes how we live our lives in the here and now. Living life backward means taking the one thing in our future that is certain—death—and letting that inform our journey before we get there. Reading the book of Ecclesiastes with this in mind will shake up our expectations and priorities for what it means to live “the good life.” Considering the reality of death helps us pay attention to our limitations as human beings and receive life as a wondrous gift from God—freeing us to live wisely, generously, and faithfully for God’s glory and the good of his world. Join us for Sunday Bible study as we will be looking to the book of Ecclesiastes for wisdom starting in May.

Welcome to Worship Class (for all prospective new members)

Central to the make-up of our congregation is our worship life. Understanding our worship life gives direction to our daily life. Knowing how God serves us with his Word and sacraments allows us to go out into our community and world to serve others in the name of Jesus Christ. Therefore Zion asks all prospective new members (and invites any current members) to go through this process in order to understand and rejoice in the distinct nature of our worship and faith life at Zion and thus partner with us as we endeavor to be witnesses to Jesus Christ to those in our community, those in our lives and "even to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

Communicant Membership Class (for those joining our congregation from another denomination)

What Lutherans believe and teach about Word of God is distinct from all other Christians. The Lutheran teachings on the Lord’s Supper is certainly no different. We believe the Lord’s Supper is a life-giving blessing given by God to the Church. It is a miracle in bread and wine established by the God-man Jesus Christ. Those who attend will examine what the Scriptures and the Confessions have to say about Jesus’ gift of His true body to eat and His true blood to drink.
